This month Quiksilver and Roxy are helping the environment by contributing thousands of dollars to Coastcare for the purpose of restoring Australian beaches and the coast by planting trees.

Quiksilver and Roxy Think Green !

‘Quiksilver Thinks Green’

In Quiksilver Retail Stores this September our theme is "Quiksilver Thinks Green". The environment needs to be cared for forever, but the month-long Quiksilver Thinks Green concept is an initiative to increase awareness of our customers and the public of the role that we can all take in limiting our impact on the environment.  This is part of Quiksilver’s campaign to reduce its own impact on the environment.  Some of the steps Quiksilver and Roxy are taking include:

Quiksilver have just initiated, for the first time, Recycled Paper shop bags which are made from specific pine plantation.

Quiksilver are also launching their first range of products using organic cotton. What makes it organic is these products aren’t used with harmful pesticides, herbicides or artificial dyes and the organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that are low impact to the environment.

Quiksilver are also doing a range of bags and backpacks in Q-Tec an environmental friendly Eco coating  replacing the traditional PVC coating. The advantages are that this coating contains no PVC, no dioxins, no heavy metals and has a higher water resistance and is more durable than traditional PVCs.

What is Quiksilver Foundation?

The Quiksilver Thinks Green concept is supported by the Quiksilver Foundation Australia.  The Quiksilver Foundation Australia is a community fund of the Quiksilver group of companies committed to benefiting and enhancing the quality of life for communities across the Asia Pacific in support of environmental, educational, health and youth-related projects.
The Quiksilver Foundation Australia is currently supporting:

Whitelion
Cottage By the Sea
Make A Wish
National Breast Cancer Foundation
Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation
Indigenous Education Programs

What is Coastcare?

Now the Quiksilver Foundation Australia is supporting Coastcare. Coastcare is a community of volunteers caring for their coast, identifying and tackling local environmental problems like dune erosion, loss of native plants and animals, storm water pollution, weeds and control of human access to sensitive areas and working together to achieve practical solutions.
