Quiksilver, the world’s leading outdoor lifestyle company, is proud to announce the waiting period for the Quiksilver Open Keramas 2007 is set to begin Monday, April 30.

Keramas, only a few years ago a relatively secret spot on the surfing mecca of Bali, is now revered as a favourite of professional surfers the world over and after a highly successful inaugural event last year, is now an eagerly anticipated event on the rapidly developing Indonesian Surfing Championship (ISC) calendar.

Located on Bali’s east coast, it is no coincidence the wave has gained such a reputation with a perfect combination of dredging barrels and a heaving inside section that has produced some of the most photographed aerial demonstrations in recent years including Quiksilver team rider Wayan ‘Betet’ Merta’s massive air reverse in the early rounds of last year’s event.

The Quiksilver Open Keramas 2007 is a 6 star ISC event with Rp30,000,000 in prizemoney on offer- but just as importantly, critical points to get a jump in the ratings on a highly competitive field. Held over a 7 day window to allow for the optimum conditions, the Quiksilver Open Keramas 2007 will showcase some of the most progressive surfing in the world on the punchy righthander- the performance levels pushed even further by the incentive of an additional Rp1,000,000 for both the longest barrel and biggest air for the competition.

This year will also see the hosting of the Roxy Open Keramas 2007 and a masters division for the men’s event; both of which are expected to be hotly contested by an international field and some of the pioneers of Indoneisan professional surfing respectively.
